Apple iPhone 17 Rumors: All we know so far

The iPhone 16 is only a few months old, and we just got the iPhone 16e, but mobile observers are already turning their attention to the next Apple flag smartphone, with the executions reportedly referring to the next generation’s iPhone as “the most ambitious in product history”.

Rumors suggest that the biggest change in the iPhone 17 lineup will be eliminating the “Plus” variant in favor of a “thin” or “air” pattern. There is also a trick about all four models receiving a 120Hz promotion screen and 24MP front camera.

If you haven’t updated on the iPhone 16 or just curious to find out what Apple’s cooking is, here’s what we’ve heard about the iPhone 17 from reliable sources so far.

iPhone 17: Revised Lining

Of the four iPhone variants in the latest iPhone formations, the Plus model is reported to have made the worst, as most people seem to be willing to pay only $ 100 for a pro -model, Bloomberg notes.

Enter the thin iPhone 17. Numerous reports suggest that there will be a 6.6 -inch display, a single rear 48MP apparatus and a minimum of 8 GB of RAM to support Apple’s intelligence (potentially up to 12 GB). However, Apple can call it a “air” pattern instead of approximating its MacBook Air and iPad Air models.

The thin model is part of Apple long -term plans to develop “thinner and lighter products in their categories throughout the technology industry”. At a thickness of only 6.25 mm, it is expected to exceed the iPhone 6 (6.9 mm) as the thinnest iPhone ever. One obstacle to the thin design is that it cannot leave room for a speaker at the bottom, so the device is likely to have only one speaker on top.

The other three models are likely to bear their names, but the screen size for the basic variants and the Pro can increase from 6.1 to 6.3 inches, according to analyst Jeff Pu. Pro Max will continue with a 6.9 -inch screen.

Sight

While the last five generations of the iPhone have seemed similar, the iPhone 17 formation is likely to undergo major changes – especially in the back.

Camera modules can be moved from the upper left corner to a more central position. The only iPhone 17 Air camera can be placed inside a large, concentrated lump, while the iPhone 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max can display a rectangular cameras along the top, similar to Google Pixel 9 Pro.

It is unclear whether Apple will continue to use the titanium for the chassis of pro model. According to the information, all iPhone 17 models will use an aluminum frame. But a stream opposes this, claiming that the 17 pro modes will continue to use the titanium.

At the front, the pill-shaped cutting for the Dynamic island on the Air iPhone 17 will be slightly smaller than the current iPhone 16 models, according to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo. The iPhone 17 Pro Max can also get a new “metals” for the face ID that reduces the size of its dynamic island.

Screen changes

According to Etnews, which quotes an interior of the screen industry, Apple is set to use the same low-temperature polycrystalline panels (LTPOs) on all iPhone 17 models. This means that each of the future models may come with 120Hz promotion refresh and screen characteristics always limited to ADA.

Samsung will produce panels for 17 pro and 17 pro max models, while LG will build them for basic and scarce/air variants, the report adds.

Apple is also reported to be in corning talks to make the outer glass of the iphone 17 “anti-reflective” and more scratch-resistant.

Camera updates

Apple’s iPhones have long had 12MP front cameras, but this will change with the presentation of 24MP front revolts in all four iPhone 17 models, says Kuo. These cameras are also rumored to have been positioned more centrally within the dynamic island than in its left corner.

Another feature that Apple fans loved throughout the table is 5x zoom. However, this will remain exclusive to the 17 pro -model models, according to South Korean Elec Outlet.

Among the pro modes, says Kuo, the iPhone 17 Pro Max will become the first iPhone to represent three 48Mpcamera: wide, ultra wide and tetrapism. It is unclear whether the same lenses will extend to 17 pro.

A tetrapism is “essentially a periscope or a way to bend the light many times through the glass, which is a tool that other phone manufacturers have used in their cameras since 2017 to bring remote subjects closer to your smartphone,” according to our expert.

The iPhone 17 Slim, on the other hand, is expected to have a single rear 48MP camera, but information about the back cameras for the base and the pro variants is strangely scarce.

However, according to information, at least one of the iPhone 17 models will have a mechanical opening, allowing users to adjust the opening of a lens and, thus, the amount of light that enters the hand. Currently, all iPhone models have a fixed opening.

Increasing performance

Apple tends to update chipes every year. Unless, the iPhone 17 and 17 slim is expected to receive the A19 chip, while the pro -pro -models will receive the A19 pro chips.

However, the rumor mill is divided into whether these sockets will be built in 2-Nanometer TSMC chips. The latest update, according to the latest X-in-time post from Kuo, is that all iPhone 17 phones will display N3P technology, 3-Nanometer of TSMC.

In terms of memory, 17 pro Max is expected to receive 12 GB RAM, and the basic and scarce variants are expected to pack 8 GB of RAM. For model 17 pro, Kuo expects RAM 8 GB, while Jeff Pu reports 12 GB.

Hardware development at home

After developing its own A-series and M series chips, Apple can undertake developing batteries according to et news. The report says Apple is currently running a battery development project and plans to include it in “products released after 2025.” For now, the concentration is in modem.

After working on a modem chip for a long time, we finally took a look at Apple’s work with the C1 modem on the iPhone 16e. C1 supports sub-6Gz and C-base Spectrum 5G but not faster MMWave available to other iPhone 16 models. This restricts 16e maximum speed potential in areas where MMWave is available.

Apple currently uses Broadcom Wi-Fi 7 technology for iPhone 16 models. According to Kuo, “all new 2H25 iPhone 17 models will present Apple internal Wi-Fi chips.” Only iPhone 17 Slim will have C1. This should reduce costs and “improve connection through Apple devices,” he says.

In November, Jeff Pu also said Apple will include a Wi-Fi 7 chip on the iPhone 17 Pro in the second half of 2025, Macrumors reports.

Another hardware rumor is about the possible involvement of a steam room. As macrumors notes, this technology reduces thermal heating by spreading it to a larger surface. The component has already been used on high -level Android phones, and can help Apple avoid the heat issues facing some pro -pro -model models.

Release and prices

Apple will most likely climb its early September window for the iPhone 17 lineup.

In terms of prices, Wall Street Journal Reports that the Air iPhone 17 can be cheaper than the pros mods. Macrumors expects pro the pro -preserving their starting price of $ 999.

We will update this space while more rumors are complicated.
