Automatic tracking with every phone, every app is a game switch

Dji Gimbal the first tested was OSMO MOBILE 3 in 2019, and it is impressive to see how much the Gimbal category has improved for half a decade. Djimi younger, OSMO MOBILE 7P, is lighter, thinner, however there are more opportunities and a higher load than mobile 3. Good, okay, it is silly to compare a seventh generation product to a third -generation product, but even if I compare with other gimbals released recently by competing brands.

This is a small tracking module that allows Gimbal to trace the user using every phone, every application. Previously, Dji Gimbals could only track if using the DJI himself app, and the latest Insta360 gimbal added to it by supporting Apple Dockkit, it means it can track using its own app and any domestic iPhone app on an iPhone. The last of DJI is the first gimbal that is able to track regardless of the app or phone model.

This module can be glued to the bottom of the Gimbal telephone clip (link through magnetic pogo pins) for ease of use.

The module also doubles as a Mic Mini DJI receiver, which means that users can film themselves with much better audio than use the built -in phone microbe.

Gimbali himself? It performs well, of course, but most modern gimbals can do it. It is a three -axle gimbal that stabilizes X, Y and the shaft of a phone and with a load of 300g maximum, this is enough to cover 99% of phones on the market.

Mobile 7p sheep at the middle point be of pocket (at least in a coat or skirt), and weighs about 300g on its own.

Another clever 7p mobile design is that it has integrated tripod legs, so the device can essentially be an autonomous camera operator. Simply support it on a surface, activate tracing and the gimbal and camera will follow your movements.

Tracking control is also very easy with hand gestures: an open palm will begin tracking. As default, the camera traces you to the central frame, but if you put two index fingers with your thumb as if you are making a frame, you can reposition yourself within the frame, so it traces you to the rule of third parties, for example.

The module also has a light so that it can double as a filler light. You can adjust the light temperature, but I rarely used this feature as I really do not like the appearance of a light that shines on my face in low light video. Better, my face is shadowed on it along with the real world scene. But I am possible in the minority, as other Vloggers would want their face forward and center.

DJI software is also ripe, with Activeettrack 7.0 be able to keep track of you even if you immediately get out of the frame. Or keep track of you even if a crowd of people suddenly enter the frame. You can also fix the gimbal to follow a whole group of people, and will do their best to keep everyone in the frame if people would move farther.

Being able to connect with a DJI Mic Mini is a great job for me, as I am ready to go to Spain for the World Mobile Congress, and I aim to shoot most of my content with a phone and gimbal (compared to a “real” cameras). From my testing so far, the connection is easy-you need to insert a cable from the module to the USB-C port of the phone-and the audio quality is excellent.

Ecedeated with $ 149, DJI OSMO MOBILE 7P is a great companion for any creator of solo or Vlogger content, whether they are professionals or aspirants.
